It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...
Hello there! Belinda here with my very first blog :-) So it's exactly two weeks until the big day (Christmas day, not my wedding day, sadly) and I haven't wrapped a single present (however I have rather hastily wrapped up the ever so classy, what I'd describe as, female version of The Hangover film, Bridesmaids on DVD for my mother - using of course some pink tissue paper she gave me). I haven't even finished buying presents, let alone started writing christmas cards. There's a dilemma of who do I need to buy presents for, what do I get them, can I afford to do all this, when is The X Factor Final on... I get so distracted by trashy television, or addictive habits of mine like refreshing Facebook or Twitter every 5 seconds, I forget about the real world and the real people in it. I can get lost in books (I remember how much my nan was worried about me when I got deeply engrossed in the Twilight books) but I doubt I'm the only one who more than sometimes favours fantasy over reality. I filled in an online application for The X Factor next year, something else my nan deeply disapproves of. I'm not interested in fame, celebrity culture or even money (well I would'nt mind winning the lottery, but I don't even play it). I just really really really love singing. I'm what you might call a karaokiac, but there's more to my love of music than singing my favourite artist's song (e.g. Someone Like You - Adele, aka Song of 2011) but I've written a few songs of my own too, it's like a form of therapy for me. Music is like therapy, singing words you might not be able to say. My favourite christmas song, in case you wanted to know is Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas. If you hear odd screeching when I'm nearby, don't worry, it might just be me trying to reach that high note in the song. And on that note (ba-dum-dum) I end my first blog. Short and sweet, just like me ;-) p.s. my next one will be better, promise! X
